Flat arch supported by a cable – Pedestrian Bridge across Johnson Creek, Oregon

The pedestrian bridge is formed by a flat arch that is supported and post-tensioned by a suspension cable. Erection was developed and tested independent of the terrain under the bridge. The deck is assembled of precast segments and a composite deck slab. As an alternative, a deck assembled from precast segments of high strength concrete was also proposed. The structure was checked by detailed static and dynamic analysis. At present a model test of this structural type is being prepared. The study was performed for a pedestrian bridge across the Johnson Creek in Oregon.
